A tile repair is most successful when the damaged area is limited, matching material is available, and the substrate or waterproofing behind the tile is still sound. Cracked tile can come from impact, substrate movement, insufficient movement accommodation, or an installation problem below the surface. Loose tile may indicate poor bond coverage or a moving substrate. Repeated grout cracking can be cosmetic, but it can also point to movement or a change-of-plane detail that needs a different treatment.
Important: Replacing one visible tile does not correct a failed shower pan, hidden water damage, widespread bond failure, or an unstable floor. When the cause is larger than the damaged piece, SHAX will explain why a broader repair or replacement may be more appropriate.
